While reading an article on ZDNet about recent shutdown of secure mail company connected to Ed Snowden case, I got an idea how to use mobile phones with NFC, social networks to make the virtual world more private place.
What if you have an app in your Android which hold PGP private key on secure element (like SIM or SD card). Now imagine that app like APG would implement a function to sign/exchange public key using NFC when you meet the person. Or even better, you could use social network of your choice to ask your friend (who you know in person, right?) to sign your public key.
I have a feeling that I’ll take a look at APG (as it is an open source) to try to implement it … as soon as my phone is back from reclamation 😉
